Wilderness Adventure

Valley View offers seasonal day hikes and overnight group camping trips to wilderness areas throughout New England and New York. The trips will almost always include a service-learning project with the park rangers comprised of community service work that is exchanged for education on subjects such as land management, environmental issues, wildlife, and regional wilderness history. Whenever possible, the trips include a summit experience and other geographical wilderness features such as mountain lakes, gorges, meadows, and forests. Students are challenged on a number of areas such as self care, time management, group decision making, communication, perseverance, and patience to name a few.
