Residential Guidance for Boys

Today was an experience for many of our students, as we had our first major snowstorm of the winter. In the end Mother Nature dumped over a foot of snow on us. The teachers made it in and we had school as usual. Although the conditions outside were terrible, the boys were excellent. Many of them were excited for school to be over so they could go outside and sled. Some of the boys volunteered throughout the day to help shovel around the school, dorms and walkways. The incredible commitment from the teachers to be here and travel to and from work during this awful weather is really what stayed with me today. I am so appreciative of their commitment to everything they do as part of our academic team.

The boys had a great time last weekend watching the Super Bowl. We had our annual party hosted by our residential counselors. We held the party in our dining room and projected the game on the big screen. The boys enjoyed eating chicken wings, ribs, nachos, chili and an assortment of desserts during the game. The boys were treated to one of the greatest games in the history of the Super Bowl. Being a Miami Dolphins fan, the amazing comeback was difficult to watch. I can admit the New England Patriots are an amazing dynasty, but I will never root for them! Congratulations though to all the Patriot fans reading this.

Second quarter grades will be going out tomorrow. I am very proud of all of the boys that earned honor roll this quarter. Overall, I am very pleased with all of the progress we continue to see from our students. We will continue to challenge and support them as we move into the second half of the year.
